FIVE things to consider before purchasing a temperature and humidity test chamber 1/3

The temperature and humidity test chamber (also known as the environmental test chamber) is designed to evaluate the quality and reliability of the product under different environmental conditions, especially temperature and humidity.

Temperature and humidity test chambers are usually used by researchers from different industries, such as electronics, electrical, communications, automobiles, medical, aerospace, etc.

Suppose your company has a project that needs test new products under various environmental conditions. You will get a task to find and identify the temperature and humidity test chamber that can perform the tests.

How do you start? What criteria should be noted when selecting the appropriate chamber and supplier? Is the price always the determinant or quality of your product or after-sales service quality?

In order to make a good decision to buy the correct temperature and humidity chamber, several factors need to be considered. This article is designed to help you make informed decisions. We are going to share FIVE things you‘ ve chosen or chosen before:

Temperature range

Humidity range

Temperature change rate

Interior dimensions

Cooling mode

1.Temperature range
The temperature range is the main parameter to select the chamber. The manufacturer has a wide temperature range of chambers with different structure and insulation design. Normally, the temperature of the standard chamber can be as low as -70°C, up to 150°C,If your test requires a temperature above the standard parameters, you can customize it,  just make sure to provide your test details to your lab supplier. The final low temperature required for testing determines the type of refrigeration system required.

2.Humidity range

Relative humidity (RH) depends on the water vapor pressure and temperature in the test chamber. At low temperature, the system can achieve higher relative humidity with less water vapor. on the other hand, more water vapor is needed at higher temperatures to obtain high relative humidity.

The standard temperature and humidity range in most test rooms is 10°C to 85°C, and the relative humidity is 10% to 98%RH. The minimum temperature that the chamber can reach is limited because it may dew or form fog. A test room dew point is usually defined as 10 °C.
Figure 1
The range of RH available at a specific temperature is shown in figure 1. The minimum humidity that the box can achieve, for example, is 40%RH  20°C, The chamber can reach 20% RH. at 60°C temperature You must operate the test box within the range set by the manufacturer. Any attempt to set up outside this range may cause damage to the refrigeration system.
